FENIX Production Facility: Scalable Industrial Security Cameras Surveillance and Operational Control with Axxon One

To modernize surveillance across a 10-hectare manufacturing hub, FENIX Group replaced its legacy NVR setup with Axxon One 2.0. The new system delivers real-time video analytics, automated access control via LPR, and zone-based monitoring across nine production halls. With 115 cameras and AI-driven insights, the solution now supports safety, logistics, and compliance, while laying the foundation for thermal anomaly detection in high-risk storage areas.

Customer Profile

FENIX Group is a European leader in the development and manufacturing of electric radiant heating systems. Established in 1990, the group operates globally and exports to more than 70 countries through a network of 11 subsidiaries. Its main production hub, located in Jeseník, Czech Republic, spans over 10 hectares and houses nine fully operational production halls. The site combines manufacturing, logistics, shipping, and support operations, functioning as a critical node in the company’s international supply chain. This strategic site requires robust industrial security surveillance to support continuous operations and protect valuable assets.

Initial Situation and Project Objectives

Prior to the deployment of the AxxonSoft solution, FENIX relied on a fragmented surveillance system built around four QNAP NVR units. This legacy infrastructure provided limited video storage and lacked essential features such as intelligent video analytics, centralized management, and reliable access control - critical components for effective industrial camera systems. The absence of integrated monitoring for operational zones, employee checkpoints, and restricted areas created major gaps in both industrial security cameras coverage and compliance oversight. As production volumes and logistical complexity increased, so did the urgency to replace this outdated system with a scalable, centralized platform that could meet both security and operational intelligence requirements.

The client sought to implement a unified video management software (VMS) that would significantly improve situational awareness, automate key control points such as vehicle entry, enable forensic investigations through intelligent search, and ultimately support compliance with both internal safety protocols and external audit standards. Additionally, FENIX required that the new solution be capable of expanding to support future safety initiatives, including thermal detection in high-risk storage areas such as battery cell warehouses.

Technology Selection and System Architecture

After an in-depth evaluation process led by JANKO - Electronic Systems, FENIX selected the Axxon One 2.0 video management platform as the core of its new industrial CCTV security systems infrastructure. The decision was based on Axxon One’s ability to offer advanced AI-powered analytics, seamless multi-site scalability, and intuitive system operation for both administrators and end users. The customer valued the platform’s capacity to handle large-scale deployments while remaining flexible enough to support real-time operational monitoring and automated alert generation.

The deployed system includes 115 IP cameras distributed across the production halls, employee access points, and outdoor logistics areas. This industrial surveillance camera network comprises 66 ACTi models and 48 Dahua units, along with one Dahua hybrid DVR. All video data is streamed and processed through a centralized Dell server equipped with 60 terabytes of storage capacity. Four video splitters enable monitoring at strategic locations, and the system architecture supports multi-zone surveillance across production lines, shipping docks, and administrative buildings.
